Tapping Yukon's Mineral Wealth

Minto Explorations Ltd. is a mineral exploration company engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development and operation of strategic mineral properties in Canada. The company's current principle activity is the operation of a high-grade copper-gold mine known as the Minto Project located in the Whitehorse Mining District, Yukon Territory. The commissioning process for the various mill components began in June 2007 and production is forecast to ramp up to full capacity during the third quarter of 2007.

The Minto Project is an open pit mining operation followed by conventional crushing, grinding and flotation to produce copper concentrates with significant gold and silver credits. These concentrates will be exported to smelters for treatment and sale via the year-round port of Skagway, just 160 kilometers south of Whitehorse.

Minto Exploration's plans to accelerate the project have been made easier by a willing and supportive Yukon investment environment. The Government of Yukon helped the company work quickly through the permitting process and assisted Selkirk First Nation with funding for implementing the Co-operation agreement between Minto Explorations Ltd. and Selkirk First Nation. Mine site infrastructure development  continued unabated throughout the year thanks to the cold weather construction expertise available in Yukon and nearby Alberta.

Minto Explorations and Yukon Energy have entered into a power purchase agreement to supply electricity to the Minto mine. Described as a win-win arrangement, this agreement will provide Minto Explorations with stable, affordable energy in return for Minto Explorations' participation in stage one of the Carmacks Stewart Crossing transmission project.

Minto Exploration Ltd. is a 100% owned subsidiary of Sherwood Copper Corporation, a publicly listed company.
